· Keep a running log of literacy assessments that you encounter/observe in your K-6 field placements, in course textbooks, in articles, and classroom discussions. Your log should include a minimum of 10 literacy (reading or writing) assessments. Complete the following form on each assessment.
· At the discretion of your Mentor Teacher, implement a minimum of 4 of the 10 assessments with a student or small group of students. The assessment is for your practice only, assessment results should be kept confidential unless otherwise indicated by your cooperating teacher.
· Use first names only or pseudonyms when referring to students.
· (Example assessments: Reading Interview, Interest Inventory, DIBELS, Cloze, Concepts about Print, Running Record, DRA, Self-Assessments, Writing Assessments, Sight word Assessment, etc...
