RECR Training

Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RCR) training is essential for fostering a culture of integrity and accountability in research. RCR training equips researchers with the knowledge to conduct their work ethically, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards. Key topics covered include research misconduct, data management, authorship, peer review, conflicts of interest, and the ethical treatment of human and animal subjects.

Many federal funding agencies, including NIH, NSF, and USDA NIFA, require RCR training for students, postdoctoral researchers, and staff involved in funded research projects. Completing this training not only meets funding requirements but also strengthens the quality and credibility of research across all disciplines.

Online Training

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) offers comprehensive online training in Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RCR). This self-paced course covers key ethical principles and standards in research, including topics such as research misconduct, data management, conflicts of interest, authorship, and the ethical treatment of human and animal subjects.

CITI’s RCR training is widely accepted by institutions and federal funding agencies like NIH, NSF, and USDA NIFA. It provides an accessible and flexible way for students, faculty, and staff to meet RCR requirements and enhance their understanding of ethical research practices. Upon completion, participants receive certification that satisfies institutional and grant-related RCR obligations.

In person Training and Workshops

Our in-person Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RCR) training and workshops provide an interactive learning experience, offering direct engagement with ethical research principles. These sessions cover critical topics such as research misconduct, data management, conflicts of interest, authorship, and the ethical treatment of human and animal subjects. Led by experienced faculty and research professionals, these workshops encourage open discussion, case study analysis, and real-world applications of ethical guidelines.

In-person RCR training is ideal for fulfilling institutional or federal funding agency requirements (including NIH, NSF, and USDA NIFA) while fostering a collaborative environment for participants to explore and address complex ethical issues in research.
