Your incredible journey begins with your Orientation Leader, a dedicated guide ready to usher you through the exciting adventure of New Student Orientation. Our comprehensive New Student Orientation program is led by a passionate team of professionals and highly trained student leaders. Each leader is carefully selected and equipped with extensive knowledge about the University, eager to support you every step of the way.

Mandatory New Student Orientation (NSO) occurs before the Fall and Spring semesters and serves as your introduction to the vibrant life at TSU. This immersive experience will cover essential topics, including student life, academic policies, and the student code of conduct, all designed to make you feel at home as soon as you step on campus. Welcome aboard, and let the adventure begin!

At Tennessee State University, we believe that your journey as a Tiger truly begins at Orientation, and we encourage all members of our Tiger family (that means you!) to join us for this exciting opportunity.

Please keep in mind: Orientation sessions are located on the John A. Merritt campus during the day (no overnight). Additionally, you must submit your payment before being registered for Orientation in our system. Please note that we can no longer accept cash payments on the day of Orientation, so be sure to bring a credit or debit card for in-person transactions. All Orientation fees are nonrefundable and non-transferable.
