Maxine Jones
Piano
Maxine Jones is a native of Savannah, Georgia. She retired from Davidson County Board of Education, where she taught choral music and piano. Maxine has thirty-eight years teaching experience and taught in South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
Her choir students won vocal contests such as: Grady-Raham National Negro Spiritual Contest, Governor's Honor, Scattin' In the Schools-high school division, Concert Chorale Vocal Contest, Honor Choir and participated in Mid and All State choirs: guided her students in an original song writing project with Paul Reisler the Nashville Kid Pan Alley CD. Two of their songs were selected for the CD.
A childrens' choir under Maxine's direction, was selected to sing "My Country Tis of Thee," in the movie "Glory;" Maxine has published, arranged and composed childrens' music for the National Sunday School Publishing Board.
