The CAVE Laboratory
Research Facility
The CAVE lab an acronym defined as computer, assisted, virtual, environment, is a lab devoted to state of the art computer simulation. Our aim, is to work with engineering projects that help simulate the overall project outcome without having to invest in the actual materials and resources of achieving that goal.
Our namesake technology is a room-sized, advanced visualization solution that combines 4 high-resolution projection screens with 3D computer graphics to create a complete sense of presence in a virtual environment. We are researching what we feel is the future of computer simulation, 3D stereoscopic head mounted displays and augmented reality systems. Our ability to create anything imaginable, helps us to design future tech. The students and faculty we work with are uninhibited by real world constraints and foster a true paradigm shift of thought.
The world of computing is evolving. What was once an 80 character command line interface has become a three dimensional universe with endless possibilities. As we strive to keep ahead of current technology, The CAVE lab is working towards a future where digital networks blends seamlessly with virtual reality.
