Three Scholarships for Potential and Returning Students

Lawrence N. and Betty Morrow Redd Scholarship

Scholarship: $1,000 (one year award; December graduates are eligible for a $500, Fall semester award).

5 - $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a Communications Major
Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
Must have a cumulative, college-level GPA of 3.0 or above
Must have completed eight (8) hours in the major
Must show a history of involvement in departmental / co-curricular activities
Preference will be given to students who are not receiving other scholarships

Application Process

Get an application from Communications Departmental Office (Rm 105 PAC)
Complete the Scholarship Application
Write a one page Personal Statement on how your participation in the department is preparing you for your life goals.
Get two letters of recommendation. At least one must be from a Communications faculty or professional staff member from whom you took a class, or who supervised some of your work or a project.
Submit the complete scholarship application, including letters of recommendation and resume (if included) before the deadline to the departmental office, Rm 105 PAC

Theatre Performance-Based Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a Communications Major
Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
Must perform 150 hours per semestter of work towards theatre programs
Must have a cumulative, college-level GPA of 2.5 or above
Must have completed eight (8) hours in the major
Students must have out-of-state status

Complete the Scholarship Application
Write a one page Personal Statement on how your participation in the department is preparing you for your life goals.

Dr. Jamye Williams Mass Communications Scholarship

Must be a Communications Major, Mass Communication Concentration

Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)

Must have a cumulative, college-level GPA of 2.75 or above

Must have completed (12) hours in the major

Must show a history of involvement in the department/co-curricular activities

Preference will be given to students who are not receiving other scholarships

Students can have in-state or out-of-state status

Application Process
