Crop Improvement through Next Generation Technologies
Advancement in sequencing technology has facilitated research which once was only affordable to big laboratories with multiple funding sources. Our team utilizes next generation technologies for high throughput genotyping and mapping candidate genes in soybean germplasm enhancement.
Developing mutagenic soybean lines and screening for various traits is another project in our laboratory.
Our interdisciplinary research integrates field, greenhouse, laboratory and bioinformatic technologies to develop crops with better performance and yield for increasing population. Our laboratory is equipped with basic molecular genetic equipment and we have state-of-the-art equipment within the department including Ion Torrent sequencer, HPLC-MS, GC, ICP which are accessible to our team.
