Message from the Student Government Association President
Mr. Derrell Taylor
Tennessee State University Tigers,
It is with great pleasure that we introduce the Innovative 83rd Administration of the Student Government Association here at Tennessee State University. To “Innovate” means re-create and re-establish, specifically by
adding new techniques, concepts, or services. We challenge each of you, as well as ourselves, to adopt an innovative mentality and actively engage in this widely anticipated change.
The mission of the 83rd Administration of the Student Government Association is to foster strategic thinking, boost student morale, spark campus collaboration, and advocate for all student needs and interests. We intend to
hold ourselves accountable for successfully pursuing this mission on behalf of the student body.
It will take time for our school to undergo the change we intend to bring about. This process will includecommitment, transparency, and collaboration with all entities of the institution. We are confident that we will have a year of progression, teamwork, and continual record-setting achievements. Through it all, the 83rd
Administration will be of support and assistance to you all.
To help us sharpen our objectives for the upcoming academic year, we invite you all to complete a survey regarding your input to enhance campus life. Please be as specific and thorough as you can. Tigers, enjoy the remainder of your summer break! TSU ‘27, we welcome you with open arms! We cannot wait to join each of you again in the Land of Golden Sunshine!
In truth and service,
Derrell R. Taylor
83rd Student Government Association President
