Mohammad Bodruzzaman

Professor

Bodruzzaman is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has 40 years of teaching and research experience. His research interest include digital signal processing, time-frequency and wavelet analysis, pattern recognition, and artificial neural networks. Since 1990 he had conducted 24 different funded research projects (as PI and Co-PI) funded by US Air Force, Army, Navy, Dept. of Defense, National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Dept. of Energy etc. He authored and co-authored 58 refereed journal/conference papers, 3 edited books, and 44 non-refereed conference proceeding papers.

Areas of Interest: Digital signal/image processing, time-frequency and wavelet analysis, chaos signal analysis, pattern recognition and classification, artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic and biomedical signal processing.

Research Summary: (1990-present):

  • Conducted 24 funded research projects, Ten (10) research projects as a Principal Investigator  for a total grant/contract amount of $2.1Millions and eight (14) projects as Co-PI, for a total grants/contracts amount of $3 Millions. The research has been mainly sponsored by US Air Force Research Lab, ARMY, NAVY, Dept. of Defense, National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Boeing Co., etc.
  • Authored and co-authored 3 edited book, 57 refereed journal/conference papers, 44 non-refereed conference papers, 11 technical reports/theses and 36 abstracts.
  • Served as a Member of 1 Ph.D. Dissertation Committee at Vanderbilt University (1996) and 12 at TSU, Chair of 31 Masters Theses and advised 73 undergraduate Senior Projects.
  • Supervised 5 Post-Doctoral Research Associate under various research projects since 1990.
  • Serving as a preceptor of 1 undergraduate research student under MARC Program since Fall 2002.
  • Supervised of 8 prospective graduate students under the NSF Summer 2003 Applied Research Program in the area of Biomedical Engineering.
