Equipment used in the Plant Genomics & Genetics Lab

	Ambient Weather WS-2902C Wi-Fi OSPREY This solar powered weather monitor measures wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, outdoor temperature and humidity, solar radiation and UV. The console is also equipped to calculate barometric pressure, dew point, wind chill and heat index. Its Wi-Fi capabilites enable the transmission of data wirelessly to the internet.
	Autoclave Steam sterilizers (Autoclaves) are an essential part of the decontamination and sterilization processes performed in the lab.
	Ai 250°C Forced Air Drying Oven This oven is great for drying and sterilization. It is safe to use in the lab since it comes with built-in temperature calibration and and a sensor that automatically cuts power if overheating is detected.
	Eppendorf Centrifuge 5810 R This equipment is used for centrifugation requiring medium to high-speeds of up to 20,913 x g (14,000 rpm). It operates quietly and fits comfortably into the lab space.
	Eppendorf epMotion M5073 The M5073 automated pipetting systems is flexible for a wide range of Liquid Handling tasks. It is ideal for saving hands-on-time and improving the reproducibility of results. This machine's pipetting procedure is more precise, reproducible and fully standardized, making the workplace safer and more ergonomic.
	Eppendorf Mastercycler Nexus The Mastercycler enables PCR runs with a range of standard vessel types. Two eco cyclers can be connected for higher throughput, providing up to six independently operating blocks. It even has email notification functionality.
	FLUOstar Omega Multimode Microplate Reader The FLUOstar Omega is a versatile multi-mode microplate reader. It utilizes an untra-fast UV/Vis spectrometer or filters for absorbance as well as highly sensitive filters for other detection modes.
	MiSeq500 (Illumina) MiSeq System can be used in targeted resequencing, metagenomics, small genome sequencing, targeted gene expression profiling.
	NextSeq500 (Illumina) This NextSeq500 System WHole-Genome Sequencing Solution enables researcher to interrogate simple prokaryotic and complex eukaryotic genomes quickly and efficiently.
	Purair PCR-36 Laminar Flow Cabinet The Purair PCR-36 workstation offers protection by laminar flow for PCR amplification handlings that are extremely sensitive to contamination with ease of US decontamination and sterilization cycles.
	Retsch MM 400 This mixer mill mixes and homogenizes powders and suspensions with a frequency of 30 Hz within seconds. It is designed for dry, wet and cryogenic grinding of small volumes up to 2 x 20 ml, and is easy to operate.
	Thresher - Small Seed Cleaner The HALDRUP LT-15 Laboratory thresher and cleaner is a laboratory thresher for use with individual plants and small bundles. It is particularly suitable for threshing and cleaning of cereals and psudo-cereals such as Amaranth, pulses such as horse beans or soy, vegetable seeds, clover, rice, ﬂowers and many other crops.
