Tennessee State University observes a four-day work week schedule each summer.
The summer schedule each year:
- begins the first Monday in June
- and ends on the first Thursday in August.
This schedule has no effect on classes, as there are no classes held on Fridays during summer sessions. Employees deemed essential for the purposes of this policy will continue to work a Monday through Friday schedule.
Hours of Operation during the summer schedule are:
- Mon - Wed -- 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thu -- 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
However, during the weeks of Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day (July 4), hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This schedule is expected to promote efficient delivery of services during the summer months, and to reduce energy costs. For additional information, please refer to the Summer Work Week Policy, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
