Merit Scholarship Exception Request

Spring 2026 Merit Scholarship Exception Form

Now Open for Eligible Students!

The Office of Institutional Merit Scholarships is now accepting Spring 2026 Merit Scholarship Exception Requests. This process is intended only for students who currently retain an Institutional Merit Scholarship and are unable to meet the 15 credit hour enrollment requirement for Spring 2026 due to an approved circumstance.

Who Should Submit an Exception?

You may request an exception if you are a current merit scholarship recipient and:

  • You are planning to graduate in May 2026,

  • Your academic program does not permit 15 credit hours this semester,

  • You have military obligations, or

  • You have another approved reason that prevents full-time enrollment at 15 hours.

This exception process does not award new scholarships and is only for maintaining an existing merit scholarship.

Understanding the Exception Request Process

Students who qualify to request an enrollment exception will complete the Merit Scholarship Exception Form for Spring 2026.

Once the form is submitted:

  1. Your request is reviewed to confirm that you currently retain an Institutional Merit Scholarship and meet the criteria for an exception.

  2. Your academic record and remaining coursework are evaluated to verify that you are unable to enroll in the required 15 credit hours due to graduation, program limitations, military commitments, or another approved circumstance.

  3. If your request is approved, your merit scholarship will then go to residence life

  4. Once all parties have completed their section, you scholarhsp will be adjusted and applied to your account.

  5. If additional documentation or clarification is needed, you will be contacted by email.

Students should submit their request promptly to avoid delays in processing their financial aid for the spring semester.
