🎓 About Our Program

We offer one primary degree — the Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech and Hearing Science — with multiple pathways to help you reach your professional goals.

Our program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and includes both academic and clinical training to meet all 2020 ASHA Certification Standards.

Students gain real-world experience through the Harold R. Mitchell Speech and Language Clinic, where they provide services to children and adults in the Nashville community under the supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.

Undergraduate Preparation You’re interested in exploring Speech Pathology during your bachelor’s studies. Learn about foundational SPTH courses and advising support.
Graduate Path – Non-SLP Background You have a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to transition into speech-language pathology. Complete prerequisite courses before applying to the M.S. program.
Graduate Path – SLP Background You’ve already completed undergraduate coursework in speech pathology and are ready for graduate study. Apply directly to the M.S. in Speech and Hearing Science.
