Students With a Bachelor's Degree in Another Major

Preparing for the Speech Pathology Program

Prerequisites

It is not necessary to have a bachelor’s degree in the area of speech-language pathology to apply to the Master of Science Program in Speech and Hearing Science in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology.

Applicants who do not possess a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology or its equivalent, must have obtained at least fifteen (15) hours in speech-language pathology courses (Ex. SPTH, CSD, CDIS, ASP, etc.) from an accredited university. Applicants who have not obtained at least 15 hours in Speech-Language Pathology by the application deadline should not apply through CSDCAS. Instead, these applicants can apply to TSU as a Non-Degree Seeking student in order to take our prerequisite courses (see instructions below). Students must  apply to the Graduate School as a non-degree-seeking student in order to take our prerequisite courses

NOTE: Admission to the Graduate School as a “non-degree seeking” student does not indicate or guarantee admission to the Speech Pathology and Audiology graduate program.
