About Us
The Department of Environmental Sciences is the newest department within the College of Agriculture. It offers academic programs at both the undergraduate (Environmental Sciences Concentration within BS in Agricultural Sciences) and graduate levels, and graduate certificates in Applied GIS. In addition to academic program, the Department complements the research and outreach activities through college’s Institute for Food, Agriculture and Environmental Research, three Agricultural Research and Education Centers, and a statewide Cooperative Extension Program.
The department has:
a) 12 faculty members trained with diverse academic training, and research experience to conduct research and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
b) It housed 6 state-of-the-art research laboratories to conduct cutting-edge research.
c) It offers graduate and undergraduate(concentration) degrees in environmental sciences.
d) Created environment for both graduate and undergraduate hands-on training opportunities through graduate research assistantship and dean scholar opportunities.
