Bio : Assistant Professor of Nursing and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 and has continued her educational journey by earning a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Tennessee Technological University, a Post-Master's Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Arkansas State University.
Dr. Thorne believes that every student can succeed when given the opportunity, support, and encouragement to grow. Her teaching philosophy centers on meeting students where they are while challenging them to become confident, compassionate, and clinically competent nurses. She strives to create an engaging learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to think critically, embrace lifelong learning, and provide exceptional patient care. Whether in the classroom, simulation lab, or clinical setting, Dr. Thorne considers it a privilege to invest in her students and help shape the future of the nursing profession.
