About the Program 

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is a specialized program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the key principles and practices of public health. This certificate covers topics such as public health management and policy, behavioral science and public health, and bioterrorism disaster preparedness. It equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle public health challenges, improve health outcomes, and contribute to the development of effective public health strategies in diverse communities.

Program of Study

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health requires completion of 12 semester credit hours.

Admission Criteria

  • No standardized exams or tests are required for admission to this graduate certificate program.
  • Applicants with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited college or university are eligible for admission and can earn the certificate alongside other graduate degrees at the University. Official transcripts must be submitted through the GradCAS application system (instructions provided).
  • Students who complete the graduate certificate with a 3.0 GPA or higher may be eligible for admission to the MPH program.
  • In addition to submitting official transcripts, applicants must provide a current resume or CV, three (3) letters of recommendation, and a $35 application fee.
