Director
Dr. Charles D. McCurry joined Tennessee State University as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in 2015. He obtained his B.S. (1995) in Electrical Engineering, M.E. (2005) in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. (2011) degree in Computer Information and Systems Engineering from Tennessee State University. Prior to this position, He spent approximately five years with Booz Allen Hamilton as a system and control engineering consultant to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. His research interest areas include control and intelligent control systems; human and machine teaming (HMT); model-based system engineering design (MBSE); Internet of things (IoT); and human-system integration (HSI). He served as the student chapter advisor for the TSU IEEE and Eta Kappa Nu student chapter from 2016-2020. He currently serves as the student chapter advisor International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) student Chapter sponsored by the INCOSE Huntsville Regional Chapter. He is also certified as an Associated System Engineering Professional (ASEP) by INCOSE.

Ahmad Kheder Spring to 2023 - Present Born in the Kurdish region of Iraq. Ahmad has been a resident of Nashville since 1997. He graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He has also completed his Masters of Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Tennessee State University. He is currently working on a Master of Science in Computer & Information Systems Engineering at the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. His research interests are mainly in the area of Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Machine Learning. |

Mohammad Ali Spring to 2023 - Present Mohammad Ali joined Tennessee State University as a Master’s Degree student and research assistant in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in Fall 2022. He is a recipient of a Fulbright Foreign Student Program scholarship that is awarded by the United States Department of State to pursue Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at TSU. He obtained his B.Sc. (July . 2016) in Automatic Control Engineering from the College of Electronic Technology-Tripoli. Prior to his enrollment in the master’s degree program at TSU, He spent approximately twelve years with Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company as an Automation and control engineer. His research interest areas include Control systems engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Human-machine teaming, Machine Learning, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (loT), and Embedded System Design. |

Rishi Patel Spring-2022 – Present Rishi Patel received his Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering from the Dalia Institute of Diploma Studies, India, in 2015. B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Narnarayan Shastri Institute of Technology, India, in 2018. He is currently an M.E. candidate in Electrical Engineering at Tennessee State University (TSU) and a teaching and research assistant in the Engineering Department in 2022 and 2023. Before his enrollment in the M.E at TSU, He spent one year with UMA Controller Trainee as a supervisor of the electric panels in India. He also spent six months as an Electrical site engineer at HARVI infrastructure in India work was managing a construction firm, assisting with the cooperation of materials, supervising workers, HVAC connections, quality control, and estimation. |

Shahlaa Dheyauldeen Fall 2019 - 2022 Shahlaa Khalid, a senior electrical and computer engineering student at Tennessee State University. On a dean list 3 semesters in a row, and my anticipated graduation date on Dec 2021. Currently a member at each of IEEE and INCOSE. I had a working history at different disciplines and last worked with the dishwasher electronics team at GE appliance as a technology co-op and there I got recognized twice for the outstanding job. A researcher owns a variety of experience and technical skills, professional communication, and interpersonal abilities. I am working on my senior design project, which aims to reduce automobile crashes on highways, by developing a based machine learning software design prediction system. Another research I am working on uses machine learning to classify defects with additive manufacturing build pictures. |

Rashad Bailey Fall 2019 - 2022 Rashad Bailey is a native of Newark, Delaware. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.S in Education and earned his MAT in Teaching from Trevecca University. After graduation he started a career in education enriching the lives of high school students in Nashville TN. After 13 years as an educator, Rashad, decided to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering at Tennessee State University to follow his passion of solving complex problems, creating and developing new ideas that can help people improve their quality of life. This passion lead him to Tennessee State University (TSU) were he now plays in active role in projects and coordinates the Pre-Engineering program for incoming freshman. |

Qasem Abu Al-Haija, Ph.D Fall 2019 - Spring 2020 Qasem Abu Al-Haija joined Tennessee State University as a PhD student and research assistant in the Computer Information and Systems Engineering Department in 2018. He obtained his B.Sc. (Feb. 2000) in Computer Engineering from Mu’tah University, M.Sc. (Jan. 2010) in Computer Engineering from Jordan University of science and technology, and Ph.D. (Aug. 2020) degree in Computer Information and Systems Engineering from Tennessee State University. Prior to his enrollment in the Ph.D. at TSU, He spent approximately eight years with King Faisal University/Saudi Arabia as a lecturer of the electrical and computer engineering department. His research interest areas include Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Cyber-Physical System (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Embedded System Design. |

Joshua Campbell Joshua Campbell is from Ripley Tennessee. He is currently a senior pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering at Tennessee State University. His purpose for this degree is to continue creating and improving people's lives in every aspect. He feels as if Tennessee State University has done a splendid job in training and preparing him for the outside engineering world. He plays an active role in many different organizations and research programs that has benefited his peers as well as himself. |

I’m a first generation college student, and has had a strong interest in the STEM field since I was in grade school.
