Kappa Delta Pi - Zeta Chi Chapter
WELCOME BACK, ZETA CHI!
Tennessee State University's Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi
OUR HISTORY The Zeta Chi chapter of Kappa Delta Pi was founded at Tennessee State University by Dr. Catherine Vickey in July of 1950. Dr. George W. Gore, former dean, is responsible for laying the groundwork to secure this chapter on our campus. The chapter was active for many years before it became inactive. Dr. Janet Finch, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Nicole Arrighi, Assistant Dean of Teacher Education, Dr. Kisha Bryan Jordan, Teaching and Learning Department Chairperson, and several dedicated graduate students set the groundwork for the rechartering of the Zeta Chi chapter. On April 3, 2024, the chapter was re-chartered and 14 members were inducted. Zeta Chi’s history as the 166th KDP chapter, and the first to be established on an HBCU campus is cemented in history.
