AARC Tutoring Services

The mission of TSU's Tutoring Program is to enhance academic access and inspire student success by actively engaging them with course materials beyond classroom hours. The program meticulously selects, trains, and certifies tutors from diverse majors and backgrounds to support students in excelling academically.
AARC Tutoring offers comprehensive academic assistance across various subjects, leveraging students with advanced knowledge in first and second-year topics. Tiger Tutoring prioritizes pinpointing the root cause of students' academic challenges and pairs them with specialized tutors for targeted support, while also guiding students towards additional campus resources for further assistance. If you need tutoring in the afternoon or even the wee hours of the morning, we have services to assiat you.
Learning Centers
There are three centers in the AARC that offer students assiatance in coursework in Mathematics, Reading, and Writing. Academic support services include tutoring, co-requisite workshop instruction, instructor and peer tutoring, success workshops, and computer lab access. Learning centers are open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Extended apointments may be available on select days.
Peer Tutoring
Peer tutoring is available for students in the following subjects: Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, English, Spanish I, Psychology, Political Science, Algebra I & II, and Criminal Justice

P.A.S.S. Tutoring
The P.A.S.S. (Passionate About Student Success) Tutoring Program
is dedicated to providing excellent customer service to our students! Our program aims to s
upport academic achievement by offering virtual and in-person tutoring to currently enrolled undergraduate students. The goal of our program is not only to assist our students in getting "good grades," but also to help students to create a deep conceptual understanding of their academic materials!
P.A.S.S. Faculty Tutoring is primarily offered in General Education core courses. Generally, our Faculty P.A.S.S. Tutoring operates Monday-Friday, from 4:30pm.- 8:00pm. Limited tutoring is also available on Saturdays in some subjects from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Hours vary for all courses, depending on the tutor’s schedule.
24/7 Online Tutoring
There are online tutoring services that are available to all students 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
To access PearDeck (formerly TutorMe) and Tutor.com, Proceed to any one of your courses in eLearn and locate the TNSTATE Bookmarks area on the lower left side of your course homepage and click on the TutorMe link from there.
