Mini-Semesters

Accelerate & Stay on Track

Mini-semesters are composed of three different types of course structures that encourage students to accelerate and stay on track for graduation. Students can use these mini terms as an opportunity to gain up to 9 credits over the three mini-semester offerings.

Xtreme Winter 2026

Xtreme Winter Break is offered during winter intercession, usually in January. The courses are typically general education courses at the 1000 and 2000 levels. Please note that there are no scholarships given for XWB and that XWB courses are included in your Spring 2026 course load and billing.

Xtreme Winter 2026 Reminders for Students

• Please monitor your TSU email for updates from your instructor while the university is closed for winter break.
• The last day to drop an XWB course (to prevent course fees) is January 4, 2026. If you cannot drop your XWB course, send a request to records@tnstate.edu on or before the deadline to have the course removed, possibly.
• Contact the Bursar's office for any questions regarding fees.
• January 5, 2026, is the only drop/add day for XWB courses. If you are not enrolled by the 5th, you will not be able to enroll for the abbreviated term.
• All grades for XWB will be released in May 2026 with the rest of the Spring 2026 term grades.
