Inspire the next generation - gain essential teaching skills with Minor in Education

 

The 12-hour Minor in Education allows non-education majors to complete a partial program of study in education that could be used later to pursue licensure. The minor in education also prepares candidates for careers that include training and development, non-profit sector work, publishing, and government. 

For a Minor in Education, students select twelve (12) semester hours from the following courses: 

  • EDCI 2010 History & Found. of Educ (3; Required)
  • EDCI 2420 Human Growth and Learning (3)
  • EDCI 3110 Classroom Management (2)
  • EDCI 3300 Foundations of Second Language Acquisition (3)
  • ESDE 3330 Ed. of Exceptional Child (3)
  • EDCI 3400 Culturally Relevant Seminar (2)
  • EDCI 3500 Instructional Strat. for Elem. (3)
  • EDLI 3500 Methods of Teaching English Language Arts (3)
