The administrative offices for The You First Project are located on the first floor of the Harold M. Love Sr. Student Success Center in rooms 107E.
To reach these offices:
- enter through the main doors of the Student Success Center,
- take the first right,
- proceed past The Office of First-Year Students,
- and turn left at the end of the hall.
The Future Act Program Director is responsible for all activities under this proposal. She ensures adherence to compliance requirements as mandated by the Federal Regulations governing this Federal program at the University.
Sessi Aboh, Ph.D., serves as Program Director for The You First Project. She holds a Teaching Certificate and an M.S. in Teaching from the University of Benin, a Master’s in Educational Administration, and a Ph.D. in Social / Philosophical Foundations of Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY-Buffalo). In August 2020, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management at Tennessee State University. Dr. Aboh joined TSU in 2011 as the Director of SAFRA (Title III / Part F). In that position, she spearheaded many retention initiatives, including but not limited to the design and successful implementation of the Student Success Coaching initiative.
Before TSU, Dr. Aboh served as Vice Provost for Academic Administration at Fisk University, Associate Director of the African World Studies Institute at Fort Valley State University (GA), and Research Associate at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY). She was the inaugural Managing Editor for the Journal of Culture Transmission in the African World, served for several years on the Editorial Board / Peer Reviewer for Urban Education and the Journal of Negro Education. She is a current Board Member of IEWAD, a non-profit working to increase secondary school and college completion rates for girls in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
