The 11-credit hour Certificate in TESOL allows undergraduate students throughout the university to complete the program of study that will lead to teaching increasing numbers of English around the world. Students who complete this program will have credentials to teach overseas, online, or adult English learners in the United States. For those who are interested in the non-teaching profession, this minor will help students develop successful communication skills at the workplace as there are increasing numbers of employees who are speakers of other languages.

IMPACT:

Students will be able to use this certificate to enhance their transcripts and resumes as they seek careers in diverse areas. From the departmental impact, this new degree will recruit more students outside the campus, including international students, and attract non-education majors.
