What Do We Do?
Broadly, we aim to help our students identify and develop the ways that they can best grow as individuals, excel in academia, and prepare for rewarding careers. These answers are different for everyone, and we are committed to exploring these complex questions thoroughly and individually. Part of our Life Design Catalyst framework is called “SPARCK,” which stands for Story, Purpose, Aspiration, Reflection, Connection, and Kick-Start. Over the course of your coaching sessions, you might expect to discuss some of these ideas:
- Story: Who am I? How did I get to where I am?
- Purpose: What am I here to do? What am I all about?
- Aspiration: Where do I want to go? What do I want to do?
- Reflection: How am I doing? Am I getting there, or does there need to be a change?
- Connection: Who can I partner with? Who can help me achieve what I want?
- Kick-Start: What’s the next step?
Using this method of Appreciative Inquiry, we support our students as they build a more complete sense of self and direction, which will propel you toward graduation completion and an exciting future.
We shape our coaching sessions to the needs of our students, and we have many adaptable tools to help answer the questions you may have. If you’re into planning for the long-term, we can help you make a career blueprint; if you could use some tips on handling daily tasks like taking notes and managing time, we have you covered there, too.
Like every Activity in The You First Project, we are a judgment-free space that is here to make your first-generation experience more fulfilling and rewarding! If you would like to connect with us, please feel free to Meet Our First-Generation Specialists.
